Make a video corpus searchable, without overpromising.

From an authorised corpus, Aive Expert organises searchable content units and points to the available sources and moments that support its answer. Here is how, and within what limits.

How does Aive make a video corpus searchable?

When the Expert module is enabled, Aive starts from an authorised corpus, applies the available analyses, such as transcription, speakers or chapters, then organises searchable content units. A question returns an answer together with the sources and moments that support it. Coverage depends on the content ingested, its quality, the analyses enabled and the rights.

Authorised corpus
The content you have the right to ingest and choose to make searchable.
Content unit
A segment of a video, linked to its source moment, that Expert can retrieve and cite.
Reference wording

What Expert does, and what it does not.

From an authorised corpus, Aive Expert organises searchable content units and points to the available sources and moments that support its answer.

Coverage depends on the content ingested, its quality, the analyses enabled and the rights. An answer must be checked against the source and is neither exhaustive nor guaranteed.

Why this caution

A sourced answer is only worth something if you can go back to the moment behind it. Aive shows the source before making a statement.

How it works

From corpus to sourced answer.

  1. 01
Define the corpusYou choose the videos, their rights and who may query the corpus.
  2. 02
Apply the enabled analysesTranscription, speakers, chapters and timecodes, depending on the analyses in your plan.
  3. 03
Organise content unitsEach unit stays linked to its video and source moment.
  4. 04
Answer with sourcesThe answer points to the moments that support it; with no source, it says so.
  5. 05
Check and revokeYour team checks against the source; content removed from the corpus can no longer be queried.

Limits to know.

  • An Expert answer must be checked against the source; it is neither exhaustive nor guaranteed.
  • Content that is not ingested, of poor quality or without rights is not covered.
  • An unanalysed modality cannot be queried: the gap is flagged, not filled.
  • Indexing capabilities are described module by module; they do not apply to every plan.
Frequently asked questions

Questions about indexing.

Can Expert answer a question outside the corpus?

Expert relies on the authorised corpus. When no source in the corpus supports an answer, it should say so rather than invent one.

Who decides which content is searchable?

You do. The corpus is defined with your rights and access rules; content that is removed can no longer be queried.

Are my videos used to train models?

No. We never use our business customers’ data to train our models. Details by product are on the Security and trust page.
